FAQ

How does microneedling work?
Microneedling uses controlled damage to create enough wounds in the skin just to trigger a healing response. When needles penetrate the skin through the microneedling device, the deeper layers of skin respond with increased cell regeneration. The skin also starts to produce more collagen, which is what keeps it looking tight, smooth, and youthful. As we age, collagen production slows down. Microneedling is a natural way for collagen to infusion the skin.
What Conditions Does Microneedling Treat
Some of the conditions that medical microneedling is known to improve include: mild to moderate acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, skin texture and pore size, and stretch marks
Will it hurt?
One of the first questions patients ask about this treatment is "does microneedling hurt?". Generally, no, microneedling does not hurt. Before the device is used, a numbing cream soothes and prepares the skin for treatment. The rapid movement of the needles themselves makes treatment go by quickly. Most patients describe it as a feeling like fine sandpaper on the skin.
Will I see any immediate results with Exceed microneedling?
It will take about 6 treatments, scheduled 8 weeks apart, to achieve the desired results. However you may see immediate improvement in the skin as well. Some of the conditions that medical micro needling is known to improve include: mild to moderate acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, skin texture and pore size, and stretch marks. Patients often will leave the office with a light glow after their treatment. After about 30 days, you'll notice more dramatic improvements as collagen and elastin are restored beneath the skin's surface.
What is microneedling with PRP?
PRP, or platelet rich plasma, is used for a wide range of regenerative treatments. Combined with microneedling, PRP skin rejuvenation boosts the results of your treatment. PRP is derived from a small sample of your own blood-that's why microneedling with PRP is often nicknamed the "Vampire Facial". The blood sample is put through a centrifuge to separate out platelet rich plasma, which is rich in growth factors that help trigger cell regeneration. When injected back into the skin, PRP brings your own unique healing properties and additional blood supply to the face and neck.
Am I a good candidate for microneedling?
Almost anyone can safely undergo microneedling. The Exceed medical microneedling device offers an adjustable depth, making it appropriate for many different skin types. It's ideal for addressing mild to moderate damage from wrinkles, scars, and enlarged pores.
